Orangina...

I've never liked orange, but have a look at this Malabrigo
worsted. It is a color I can't begin to describe except to
show you graphically (especially since they were a gift, and the tags
were not included so I can't tell you the colorway at all).

It is the color of the blood oranges on my trees, just now starting to turn darker as they ripen. Yellow, orange, tangerine, red - all at once.

After taking these pictures of the trees this morning, I saw this painting just inside my back door.

I painted it last year on a trip to Italy, and in the details I see these colors once again, deep and true.

Color you can't name because it is every shade at once...

I love orange.

Gorgeous!
The pictures make me crave oranges.
I can't wait to see that yarn knit up, it will be stunning!
And what a beautiful painting too!

I love orange. When you see it, it just demands your attentions. When things get really grey and rainy here I will bust out the orange wool and make a scarf or a neckwarmer, something to shout back at the grey. Makes me smile.

A new orange-fan, how great! You know, orange is my absolutely fave colour - it never fails to cheer me up, no matter how down I am, when I look at something orange, I start smiling immediately! And your pictures are indeed a feast for the eyes, thank you so much for sharing them! I'm totally impressed by your painting, by the way, you're so talented!

I didn't like orange until I knitted with it. It is lovely and your photos show the clours so well.

Wow...That yarn is beautiful! I'm jealous ;)

I wasn't a fan of orange until a few years ago. It's now one of my favorite colors! The first sweater I knit was orange alpaca. It was (is) a bright/refreshing addition to my dominant black wardrobe!

Looking forward to see what you create with this delicious yarn!

I know, the Malabrigo is incredible - I don't know what I'll knit with it yet but I wish you could all touch it - it's soooo soft!! Every bit as wonderful as people say. Lydia

Lydia, you are amazing! With all that you do, you still have time to knit the most exquisite things and on top of that have the time to photograph and write about them so beautifully!
P.S. When can I graduate from making scarves to wine cozies - they are so cute and, as you say, perfect for the beach!

The malabrigo is lovely - I was lucky enough to be gifted some recently too - and your photos and paintings are great. Orange is becoming one of my favourite colours too!
